We've all, at some point, found ourselves using this website to escape our everyday troubles and struggles, our failings and our passions. We may have even found ourselves grasping for insight into our own self, our psyche, our deepest needs and desires, all the whilst playing with our avatar in this 3D alternate reality that is IMVU. Looking at this glorified pixel dolly, completely customized to its last detail by us to achieve... what? What we aspire to be, what we want others to think of us as, what we want ourselves to project onto the world... So, looking at these beautiful monsters we've created, deep down we know that this isn't us. It's times like these that the need for something to ground us becomes essential. This is what the "Anarch Ugly Custom" will always remind me of. That no matter what beautiful junk I pile on top of my avatar, the truth remains: I cannot hide my true self. I know who I am.
